Calculus Calculator
Calculate derivatives and integrals for polynomial functions.
Supported format: ax^n + bx + c
About Calculus Calculator
This calculator focuses on polynomial calculus. It allows you to find the derivative and integral of functions in the form of ax^n + bx + c. It is perfect for checking homework or quick calculations.
How to Use?
- Enter a polynomial function in the input field (e.g.,
3x^2 + 2x - 5). - (Optional) Enter the Lower and Upper bounds if you want to calculate the Definite Integral.
- Click Calculate.
- View the Derivative, Indefinite Integral, and Definite Integral results.
Features
- Derivative: Finds the slope function f'(x).
- Indefinite Integral: Finds the antiderivative function F(x) + C.
- Definite Integral: Calculates the area under the curve between two points [a, b].
- Polynomial Support: Handles standard polynomial terms with integer or decimal coefficients.
FAQ
What functions are supported?
Currently, this tool supports polynomials only (e.g., x^2, 5x^3 - 2x + 1). Trigonometric (sin, cos) or logarithmic (ln) functions are not yet supported.
What is a Derivative?
The derivative of a function of a real variable measures the sensitivity to change of the function value (output value) with respect to a change in its argument (input value). Geometrically, it represents the slope of the tangent line.
What is an Integral?
An integral assigns numbers to functions in a way that describes displacement, area, volume, and other concepts that arise by combining infinitesimal data. The definite integral represents the area under the curve of the function.
