FAQ

What is saturation?

Saturation refers to the purity or intensity of a color. A highly saturated color is vivid and rich, while a less saturated color appears washed out or gray.

Can I oversaturate an image?

Yes. Too much saturation can cause "clipping," where details in bright colors are lost and look like solid blobs of color. It can also make skin tones look unnaturally orange.

Is this different from "Vibrance"?

Technically, yes. Saturation boosts all colors equally. Vibrance typically boosts muted colors more than already-saturated ones to prevent clipping and protect skin tones. This tool generally performs a standard saturation adjustment.
